What
is PUSH?
PUSH stands for
"Power Under Soft Hands."
The PUSH system
is a specialized manual muscle therapy that is designed to
create change in the body. Eliminating pain or soreness, or
restoring range of motion is accomplished quickly and the
changes last. This is a result of the unique way in which
a PUSH Therapist views the soft tissue of the body. Whether
the cause is physical trauma, overuse or stress, a muscle
that is "injured" will receive reduced blood supply. This
starts a downward spiral that can end in a myotonic, or rigid
muscle. The specialized PUSH technique involves treatment
of surrounding and supporting tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments)
as well as the problem tissue(s). Manual pressure is applied
to these affected areas using a unique and systematic procedure
that restores blood flow and oxygen to tight tissues.
The PUSH System
supports our philosophy that most problems can be eliminated
with short-term treatments. We believe in assisting the return
to normal functioning and educating our clients in self-treatment,
and life enhancing exercises and activities.
If you are dealing
with muscular pain or soreness, or restricted range of motion,
it is our goal to assist you in returning to normal, healthy
functioning as quickly as possible, and for you to receive
lasting results. Using a combination of Zentherapy and PUSH,
we are able to resolve a vast majority of clients' problems
and restore greater physical health and mobility in 3-6 sessions.
What
is Zentherapy?
Zentherapy methods
recognize that from birth to death, life is a flow of energy.
This energy takes shape by our attitudes, our emotions, and
our bodies.
Zentherapy methods
also recognize that our bodies hold the effects of both physical
and psychological traumas. Using various techniques and exercises,
Zentherapy methods release the natural form of the body from
the aberrations caused by physical, chemical, and psychological
traumas.
These aberrations
misalign the body and block the free flow of energy within
the body and externally. These various blocks and misalignments
prevent a person from realizing their full potential as human
beings experiencing the oneness of all life. Once the blocks
are removed and alignment is achieved, the body, mind, and
spirit will move to a higher plateau.
Zentherapy has
a three-to-ten session series for achieving greater body alignment
and energy balance. A number of techniques are used to achieve
the desired results in this process: Nimmo's trigger point
work, Rolfing, Feldenkrais, Berry work, and the teachings
of Tanouye Roshi.
Here are a few
of the structural goals for Zentherapy:
Head
moves back over the shoulders
Chest expands and lifts
Shoulders rest further back and straighter
Back is straighter and taller
Abdomen flattens and elongates
Pelvis moves more freely
Feet become softer and lighter
Hips, knees and ankles are aligned and balanced
